Dear Student:

The University believes it is important that all students maintain health care coverage to help ensure academic success and well-being. To be in compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), all individuals are required by law to have health insurance coverage. To assist with this goal, The University is partnering with Campus Unity Benefits. Campus Unity Benefits uses a web-based platform to verify existing health care coverage. If you have qualified health insurance*, you will provide your insurance information to Campus Unity Benefits, and no additional action will need to be taken.

If you are currently uninsured or are in need a qualified health plan, you will have access to a private marketplace where various types of health plans are available for purchase. We believe the range of plans offered will provide excellent levels of health coverage, with reasonable out-of-pocket costs when compared to plans offered commercially or through the ACA website.

Students will be able to enroll for coverage under the new comprehensive health plan between August 5th – September 15th, 2019. Additionally, through the Campus Unity Benefits marketplace, students will have access to short-term medical plans, vision, dental, pharmaceutical and supplemental insurance plans.

In the coming weeks, you will receive an email from Campus Unity Benefits which will give you instructions on how to verify your existing health care coverage online. The emails will provide you with immediate access to the verification portal OR you can click on the following link and access the site via MyMount: Student Health Insurance.

Note: Health insurance verification is required for students in the PA program, the DPT program, the Nursing Department, Athletic Training, the Residence Hall, other programs requiring students to have health care coverage, and for student-athletes. All other students will be able to enroll voluntarily and select one of the offered student health insurance plans if desired. Details about each Plan’s premiums, deductibles and benefits will be posted on student health insurance website.

Please feel free to contact me at (513) 244-4408 or if you have any questions or concerns.
