Attention all new first-year and transfer students for Spring semester, 2022: Mandatory online courses are ready for you....

Welcome to Mount St. Joseph University!

The faculty and staff of Mount St. Joseph University share your exceptional vision and ambition for all aspects of your life, in and out of the classroom.  Your personal and professional development, and that of your peers, is the cornerstone of a partnership that will last during your years here and beyond.

As you well know, alcohol and other drugs can be significant issues in the lives of students in both high school, college and throughout our lives.  The abuse of alcohol and other substances impairs one’s judgment, often resulting in negative consequences that affect one’s academic and social success.  We take every part of the university experience very seriously; therefore, we have implemented a comprehensive prevention program through a partnership with EverFi Higher Education.

EverFi developed two online and interactive prevention courses for substance use and sexual assault to help campuses promote a safer environment for students by teaching students to make healthier, better informed decisions about relationships, sex, drugs and alcoholIn addition, these online courses help Mount St. Joseph University comply with the Drug Free Schools Act and the Campus SaVE Act which mandates colleges and universities that participate in federal student aid programs to adopt prevention and awareness programs for all incoming students.

To this end, we require every new first-year and transfer Mount St. Joseph University student to take these two online courses:

  1. AlcoholEdu for College
  2. Sexual Assault Prevention for the Undergraduate Student
  3. If you are also a Student Athlete  you will also be assigned

Sexual Assault for the Student Athlete.  You will need to take both Sexual Assault Prevention courses assigned to you.

Neglecting to take the courses will result in a HOLD on your registration for classes for the summer or fall semesters (S422 or S123).

Deadline for completion:   March 31, 2022

The courses are available.  You will or have already received an invitational email from EverFi/Mount St. Joseph University which will give you instructions on how to register and log in using your new MSJ email account.
