Congratulations on completing your Mount St. Joseph University degree! Below please find what we hope is helpful information regarding
a few key FAQs on graduating.

When am I officially graduated?
  • Once the Registrar’s Office has confirmed completion of your requirements for your degree (including core, major, minor requirements,
required credit hours, and GPA), your degree is posted officially onto your transcript. This is also known as degree conferral.
  • The University is required to post/confer completed degrees within 4 weeks from when final grades are due, which is May 12, 2020
for May graduates, and August 18, 2020, for August graduates.
How do I get my Diploma?
  • The diploma is awarded after your degree has been posted, and will be mailed to you through the United States Post Office to the
    address you provided to us.
  • If your student account is paid in full, your diploma will be mailed within a week or two of posting your degree.
  • If your student account has a balance due, a hold is placed on releasing your diploma as well as releasing your transcript.
  • Please contact Student Administrative Services at Financial.Aid@msj.edu or 513.244.4418 to check your balance.
  • How do I get my transcript with my degree posted?
  • You can request your transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse at www.getmytranscript.com. When placing your order,
you can request your transcript to be held until your degree is posted.
  • At this time of COVID-19 disruption, we are only able to send electronic transcripts; paper transcripts are not available.
  • As with your diploma, if your student account has a balance due, a hold is placed on releasing your diploma as well as releasing
    your transcript.
  • Please contact Student Administrative Services at Financial.Aid@msj.edu or 513.244.4418 to check your balance.
Can I get a diploma cover?
  • Diploma covers will be handed out at the December 12th commencement.
  • Please contact Registar@msj.edu, or 513.244.4621 if you have any questions.
Again, congratulations! And if you have any questions, please let us know at Registrar@msj.edu or 513.244.4621.

LOAN & GRANT INFO FOR MAY 2020 GRADUATES

Are you graduating in May? Did you borrow through the Direct Federal Student Loan Program? Did you participate in the TEACH Grant Program? If so, please review the message below regarding an obligation before graduation.

Congratulations on your impending graduation! You have one final obligation prior to graduation if you have borrowed from the Direct Federal Student Loan Program and/or participated as a recipient of the TEACH Grant Program… that is to complete the required Exit Counseling! The Exit Counseling(s) are a way for you to review the terms and conditions surrounding your loan and/or grant funds used during your college career.

The Exit Counseling session for student loans will walk you through the total amount borrowed, interest accrued, repayment terms, deferment, consolidation, forgiveness options, and what to expect during your repayment period. At the completion of the counseling session, you will be able to select the repayment plan that best suits your needs. If a plan is not selected, the Standard Repayment Plan (10 year repayment) will be selected as the default. The counseling guide can also be found attached to this email for review and later reference. The required exit counseling can be completed online at the link provided below. The University will automatically be notified after Exit Counseling has been completed. Your FSA ID will be required in order to log into the counseling.
