The Center for Mission & Belonging

The Office of Mission Integration and Campus Ministry provide a variety of opportunities for members of the campus community to explore, express and enhance their faith. Service to others, caring relationships, as well as personal and communal prayer are central to our mission.

The Office of Mission Integration offers a variety of programs and events including retreats, faith-sharing groups, service opportunities, as well as peace and justice activities. The Office values, welcomes, and includes persons from a variety of faith traditions and experiences. Both Mass and interfaith prayer are offered weekly during the Fall and Spring semesters. Mass is held on Sundays at 8pm in the Mater Dei Chapel.

Wellness Center (Health and Counseling Services)

At the Wellness Center, we are committed to creating a warm and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and supported. We offer comprehensive mental and physical health services, along with innovative programming, to meet the unique needs of the MSJ community. Our dedicated team is here to advocate for you, educate you, and provide compassionate care and treatment. Together, we strive to promote the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, enhancing the overall well-being of our students and the entire campus community.

Bookstore

The new MSJ Roar Store is the University's textbook and spirit wear shop. It is located on the ground floor of the Harrington Center and includes:

Students seeking their required books for their courses should do the following:

  • STEP 1: Log into myMount.
  • STEP 2: Select the Academics tab at the top of the page.
  • STEP 3: Select the My Courses link in the left hand navigation bar.
  • STEP 4: Click the View Details link under the Student Schedule section.
  • STEP 5: When your schedule pops up, confirm you are in the correct term.
  • STEP 6: Scroll down and click the link titled "Purchase books for your courses with eCampus."

Dining

There are plenty of dining options for residential and commuter students at the Mount. All locations accept cash and credit. See below for the locations that do and do not accept meal plans and flex dollars.

The following locations accept, cash, credit, residential and commuter meal plans and flex dollars:

  • Fifth Third Bank Dining Hall located on the first floor of the Seton Center offers a dining room with four service areas, including a hot entrée bar, full service deli, demo station, salad bar and grill.

The following location accepts cash, credit and flex dollars:

  • AVI's "We Proudly Serve Starbucks" Cafe located in the Archbishop Alter Library provides coffee drinks, breakfast pastries, quick-grab bistro sandwiches and salads.
  • Joe Lion's Grille in the Harrington Center located on the ground floor of the Harrington Center provides grilled food options, flatbread pizzas, and quick-grab bistro sandwiches and salads.

The following location only accepts credit or cash by loading Market C cards available in the store:

  • Market C Convenience Store located on the ground floor of the Seton Center is a 24 hour self-serve convenience store providing hot coffee, beverages and snacks.

Resident and commuter meal plans begin with breakfast the Sunday prior to the first day of classes of the Fall and Spring semesters. Resident students will be enrolled into meal plans as part of their residential contract and application. Residents can add flex dollars to their plans by contacting AVI Foodsystems at 513-244-4633.

Recreation

Students have access to a wide variety of excellent facilities for intercollegiate and intramural sports as well as general recreation.

These facilities include:

  • Centennial Field House: The Mount's newest recreational facility, opened in 2021. Contains a fitness center for use by students, faculty and staff.
  • Schueler Field Sports Complex: Located on the east end of campus, the Sports Complex contains an all-weather field surface and 400-meter running track. Students may use this facility for general recreation except when intercollegiate/intramural games or practices are in session.
  • Harrington Center: Located on the west end of campus, the Harrington Center contains the following:
    • Gymnasium: The gymnasium contains a large wood court for multipurpose sporting use and 1/10 mile running/walking track. Court shoes must be worn on the gym floor. A limited supply of basketballs, racquetball racquets and balls and volleyballs are available for student use at the Harrington Center Front Desk. Students may use the gymnasium for general recreation except when teams are practicing, during home games and special events.

Campus Police

Campus Police is committed to the safety and security of the Mount St. Joseph community, maintaining social order within prescribed state and constitutional laws while providing professional law enforcement services. Campus Police is staffed 24 hours per day.

  • Contact an Officer: To reach an officer, dial extension 4226 from any campus phone and 513-244-4226 from an off-campus phone. An officer can also be reached by dialing 0 from any campus phone. It is HIGHLY recommended that all Mount community members store this number in their personal phone for easy access.
  • Medical Emergencies: For any immediate medical emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
  • Resources: Campus Police provides the following services:
    • Campus security
    • Emergency response and first aid
    • Enforcement of criminal and vehicle laws
    • Issuance of MSJ ID cards
    • Issuance of parking permits
    • Assistance with vehicle trouble
    • 24 hour campus safety escort
  • MountSafe: This voice- and text-based phone and email system alerts Mount community members of weather-related closings and delays and campus emergencies. Students can enroll in MountSafe with myMount.

Office of the Dean of Students/Student Affairs

The Office of the Dean of Students/Student Affairs is responsible for oversight of Student Life and Wellness. The following offices provide services that promote the holistic development of Mount students:

  • Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (Campus Events): The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership is housed in the Student Engagement and Wellness Suite of the Harrington Center. This office oversees a wide variety of campus activities and leadership initiatives that can be found on the University’s Mount Roar! student app, Campus Activities Weekly emails and flyers hanging around campus.   • Office of Residence Life: The Office of Residence Life provides on-campus housing for full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Rooms range from single and double rooms in traditional corridor-style hallways to suites for two or three residents. All residents are required to enroll in the University meal plan.
