Slavery: Its History and Current Manifestations

Tuesday, February 11 2014

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Location: Recital Hall

Calendar: Mount Community / Calendar Entry / General Interest

On Tuesday, February 11, Chris Miller, manager of program initiatives at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, will show portions of the films, “The Abolitionists,” and “Slavery by Another Name” and moderate a discussion based on the issues they raise. The title of his presentation is “Slavery: Its History and Current Manifestations.”

We hope you can join us that night and take part in the discussion! The presentation is part of a grant the College won from the National Endowment for the Humanities called “Created Equal.” The purpose of the grant is to introduce a series of documentaries illustrating the history of civil rights in America.
