Applications for the 2021 Honors Season will be accepted beginning Monday, January 25, 2021. Criteria and nomination forms are available below.

The Honors Convocation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, during the Celebration of Teaching & Learning.

 


Mount Distinguished Student Award: This is the highest honor the Mount bestows upon graduating baccalaureate and graduate degree students. Students who are eligible to apply are notified by email.

If you were invited to apply for the MSJU Distinguished Student Award, you must provide confidential recommendations from a faculty member and a community resource person.  You may access the form from the link below.

Bing Litonjua Award for Excellence in International Understanding

The Dr. Bing Litonjua Award is given to one student; undergraduate juniors, seniors or graduate students are eligible to apply. To qualify, the applicant must have demonstrated excellence in international understanding, especially with respect to issues of social justice.

Sister Jean Patrice Harrington, S.C. Award

This award is given at commencement to a GRADUATE student who has been an example of the University mission and shown consistent persistence, improvement, and continued academic diligence while enduring life challenges.

Sister Adele Clifford, S.C. Award

The Clifford Award recognizes faculty members who have significantly influenced students’ lives and demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Dave Scharfenberger Community Service Award

This award is given to a student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the mission of the University through his/her involvement in service.

Excellence in Leadership

Open to ALL students who demonstrate leadership, character and service in organizations on campus and/or in the community.

Jane Cuni Armstrong Award

This award is given at commencement to the graduating SENIOR who has been an example of the University mission and shown consistent persistence, improvement and continued academic diligence while enduring life challenges.

Sister Elizabeth Cashman, S.C. Service Award

This award is given in honor of Sister Elizabeth Cashman to a student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the mission of the University through his/her involvement in and initiation of service.

Sister Maria Corona Molloy, S.C. Leadership Award

The Sister Maria Corona Leadership Award is presented at commencement to a traditional graduating SENIOR who has demonstrated consistent outstanding leadership in campus and/or community service.

St. Catherine of Alexandria Medal

The Saint Catherine Medal is awarded to a JUNIOR who has demonstrated unusual and unselfish service and a commitment to a lifetime of faith and service to his/her church and community.

Sister Francis Marie Thrailkill, OSU Leadership Award

This award is presented to a GRADUATE student who has demonstrated consistent outstanding leadership in campus and/or community activities.
